Pressing DTF (Direct to Film) Transfers involves a straightforward process that requires precision to ensure the design adheres properly and maintains durability. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Steps to Press DTF Transfers
1. Prepare Your Materials
- Garment: Ensure it's clean and wrinkle-free.
- DTF Transfer Sheet: Print-ready transfer with adhesive powder applied and cured.
- Heat Press: Set to the required temperature and pressure.
2. Set the Heat Press
- Temperature: 300°F–325°F (149°C–163°C), depending on the film and adhesive used.
- Pressure: Medium to firm pressure.
- Time: 10–15 seconds for pressing.
3. Position the Design
- Place the garment on the heat press.
- Position the DTF transfer sheet (printed side down) onto the garment.
- Ensure the design is centered and aligned.
4. Press the Transfer
- Close the heat press and apply pressure for the specified time.
- Open the heat press when the timer ends.
5. Cool and Peel
- Let the transfer cool completely before peeling the film. This is a cool peel process.
- Slowly peel the film at a consistent angle to reveal the design.
6. Final Press (Optional)
- To ensure the design is fully adhered and has a smooth finish, cover it with parchment or Teflon paper.
- Press again for 5–10 seconds at the same temperature and pressure.
Tips for Success
- Pre-press: Before applying the transfer, press the garment for 2–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Peel Slowly: Avoid rushing the peel step to prevent damaging the design.
- Follow Manufacturer Instructions: Always refer to the specific recommendations for your DTF materials.
By following these steps, you can achieve a vibrant, durable, and professional-looking result with your DTF transfer
